The following mailing lists dedicated to OCEAN GIRL are currently available:
New hardware hosting and better list manager software have cured the extreme lag this list once had. It offers a file system with hot documents you can order by mail, archives and friendly German fans on the list itself. There are two listserves carrying postings, on two different networks. If you are unsure about which one to use, choose the Internet server.
After the owner Martin Requart (who opened this list when the original Ocean Girl discussion list by Jonathan O. McKeown had been closed) died on a trip through the USA, the L-SOFT HOME account expired and was deleted. Unfortunately the archives seem not to have been preserved.
When the English mailing list ceased, Savant felt an urge to establish a new one. In the first days, he really cared about it and sent hot news and carefully written, high quality posts to the list, but it seems he lost interest. The list was finally closed when Listbot stopped the free accounts.
Savant saw that people also needed a discussion platform which could be used freely, without control or moderation, so he established another mailing list, without asking other people. So he came up with this technically bad solution. As of October 2002, the mailing lists seems to have disappeared, the link on savants home page doesn't work anymore and only suggests that the list changed to a different hosting service when listbot closed.
This list once was installed in parallel to the old German one. Because it was not migrated to a new system, it suffered lags of sometimes several days. As of October 2002, the address doesn't exist anymore.
This list has disappeared since listbot stopped it's free service. It's probably never been used.
